The Green Bay Public Schools Food Service Department has created school lunch procedures to remind you and your children of our payment and lunch procedures. These procedures were designed for students to ensure an orderly lunch period. We hope your child enjoys the healthy and nutritious meal choices served every day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of these procedures, or questions regarding any other food service issue(s), please contact the Food Service main office at 391-2565 or your school cafeteria.

2009-2010 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LUNCH PROCEDURES

School Lunch Prices:
$1.90 Paid Student
$ .40 Reduced
$2.25 Adult
$ .30 Milk

School Breakfast Prices:
$1.50 Paid Elementary Student
$ .30 Reduced
$1.75 Adult
$ .30 Milk

 

FREE AND REDUCED APPLICATIONS are were mailed in the annual School Lunch Menu Calendar to the homes of every registered, non-directly certified student.  Applications are also available in every school office or cafeteria. Completed applications can be returned to any Green Bay School OR MAILED using the envelope provided.  Completed applications returned before the start of school will be processed before school begins.  Only one application per household is required.

DIRECT CERTIFICATION.  Families precertified for free meals by the Department of Health and Social Services were not mailed an application. These families received a notification letter in early August for free meals and school fees waived.

CHECKS ARE PREFERRED. All payments are to be made in  prepayment envelopes sent home with students.
 
ON-LINE PAYMENTS.   E-Funds for Schools allows parents to make payments to all their children’s accounts at one time. Food Service encourages on-line payments.    Both credit card and check payments can be made at www.greenbay.k12.wi.us/01/parents01/efunds/

A minimal transaction fee applies.  Please Note:  Student accounts are only activated when a payment is made or the student buys a lunch or milk. If you have questions about E-Funds, contact the Helpline at 391-6708 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. 

School Messenger.  Families of students with balances of less than $9.50 will receive a weekly phone call reporting the account balance.

Account Balance letters and two prepayment envelopes will be sent home at the end of each month for parents to make account payments.

Account Transfers.  Both positive and negative student account balances remaining at the end of the school year will transfer with the student to the next grade or district school.

Refunds.  Request for refund of money in a student account must be made in writing to the Food Service Worker at your school.

Please note:  Teachers take a daily school lunch count along with the attendance count every morning.  If the student is taking school lunch, he/she must raise their hand to be counted.  If a student arrives late for school, he/she must tell the school secretary if they are eating school lunch.

    Student picture I.D. cards are used for lunch cards and for many other school activities. Students have five days to replace a lost I.D. card.  Contact the school office for details.

    TEMPORARY I.D. cards must be obtained from the school office before the student can receive a school lunch using his/her account.  A grilled cheese lunch at $2.35 will be served until an I.D. card is presented.  CASH IS ALWAYS ACCEPTED. NO CHARGING PERMITTED.
